We know that is a pretty tall claim to make, right? The best camera phone out there. Especially, when the phone is NOT an iPhone, a Pixel or a Galaxy S series device. We are talking of the pretty scary awesome Vivo X200 Pro, which frankly yanks phone photography to another level. Allow us to substantiate said seemingly loony claim!

Vivo to its credit has been doing some phenomenal work on phone cameras in collaboration with Zeiss., The Vivo X100 Pro launched last year was pretty impressive, and the X200 Pro takes it to another level. Yes, the cameras are still made in collaboration with Zeiss, and you have a 50 megapixel main sensor, and a 50 megapixel ultrawide...so what's new? Well, the 200 megapixel telephoto, which not only delivers 3.7x optical zoom, but thanks to some AI artistry and processing, let you take even reasonably good shots at 20x and even 35x zoom. Yes, on a phone camera.

There are also a number of very interesting shooting modes, especially in portrait mode, and different colour modes, courtesy Zeiss., The fact that the main sensor is a flagship level one and that the ultrawide is pretty good too, makes this one crazy phone to have camera wise. The UI is a little complex, we concede, but this can take pictures that the iPhone and Pixel brigade cannot take!

The cameras grab so much of the spotlight that one almost forgets that the Vivo X200 Pro is actually a proper Android premium flagship, with a high class glass front and back, a brilliant 6.78 inch quad HD display, a super powerful Dimensity 9400 processor and a massive 6000 mAh battery with support for 90W charging. Those are heavy duty specs, but the cameras overshadow them all, which kinda sorta tells you how good they actually are!

The big question is whether all this is worth Rs 94,999? Well, if you love photography, we think it pretty much is. That price is lower than the 1 lakh plus tags that accompany the Pixel 9 Pro, the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the iPhone 16 Pro. The Vivo X200 Pro is a little on the heavy side and its UI will take some getting used to, but the kind of pictures it takes are...worth the trouble. We do not see any other camera phone beating this easily, if at all.
