@cyberjunkie can I ask you something? Here in Brazil many people cultuate "Madre Teresa of Kolkata" as a saint, in the catholic faith. Is she a person that you know? Or only catholic people know of her existence? I am not catholic myself... But was raised in a catholic family...

She was a big deal here actually, particularly known for her humanitarian efforts to uplift the poor and impoverished in Kolkata after the Bengal famine of 1943. I remember they said she had built a hospice out of a temple for this purpose back then. You can find it here in Kalighat, which is like an enclave of shrines and temples.

Likewise, I'm not a religious person myself but religious history is definitely interesting. Haven't heard of Umbanda before.

Umbanda is a movement that is particular from Brazil. It comes from Iorubá's in Africa

Is a really interesting thing, even for not religious people like you and me.
It arrived here through the slaves, a century ago. And is still alive.
Samba, our national rythm, for example is born by Umbanda and other african religions. I love to see how our culture was molded
