I've always had a bit of an issue with the Western representation of Japanese history, especially when it comes to the samurai, or their way of life. The West is enamoured with the concept of seppuku, and this show was no different, using it to the extent where it almost seemed silly 🙈 (Spoiler: Ending your entire lineage because you spoke up disrespectfully during court, really?). I understand this distinction is supposed to be didactic ("We live and then we die"), but other than such historical inaccuracies and romanticisation, I appreciate the last episode for its subversions and refusing to elaborate further.
