Rewatched a cult classic that I keep coming back to yearly. It’s almost like a ritual in January. Here’s what I love about Sholay: 1. You can’t put it under 1 genre, it’s everything, everywhere all at once. 2. It’s iconic. The dialogues, the characters, the songs. They’ll be etched into your memory for life. It’s genius. 3. Masala. Masala. Masala. 4. Great performances. It was as if the roles were written for each one of them who performed it. Hema Malini as Basanti was EPIC and my favourite Bollywood character till date. 5. Amjad Khan was this unconventional villain. He didn’t look the part still delivered it flawlessly. Have you watched this cult classic?
