You might think Tennis was invented in England because duh Wimbledon but it actually originated across the channel in France.

Boxing dates back to 3000 BC, making it one of the oldest sports. It was the Egyptians who first recorded boxing with a spectator as well as a boxer. However, unlike modern boxing, there were no gloves to protect their fists.
The earliest forms of Chess originated in India in the 6th Century AD and borrows a lot of elements from Chaturanga, another board game from India. The game then travelled to Persia and Asia, and became supremely popular.
