Shaitaan: Review

The movie 'Shaitaan', starring Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan, promises a gripping supernatural drama but falls short of expectations. The antagonist's evil actions are clear, but his motives remain elusive, leaving audiences questioning the unfolding events. The story revolves around a man who invades a family's home and gains control over their young daughter through black magic. As the girl becomes a puppet to the stranger's will, her parents watch helplessly. The first half of the movie keeps audiences engaged as they sense the threat from the invader, known as the 'bhagwan'. However, the film's second half veers into gimmicky territory, diminishing the impact of the initial tension.

R. Madhavan shines in his portrayal of the antagonist, bringing a sense of menace and unpredictability to his character. However, the lack of depth in the script leaves many questions unanswered. Ajay Devgn's performance as a helpless father is commendable, but the climax feels forced and lacks emotional resonance. Despite these shortcomings, the two women in the film deliver powerful performances, adding depth to the narrative.
