Adopting a pup soon, any tips for a first time dog mom!?

From my experience: 1. Pamper and spoil them all you want but don’t feed them by hand. They lose interest in food when they grow up. 2. Find a doctor before the pup. 3. Any allergy inducing food, fish, peanut butter; should be tried in the morning. If there’s a reaction, you can run to the doc. 4. Buy lint roller in bulk if you are adopting a furry one 5. Prepare yourself to love someone unconditionally, your heart will literally be walking outside your body

Found the best vet around, going for the first round of deworming in a couple of days, I am concerned about training him without feeding him with hands, I will be mindful of the allergies since it didn't even cross my mind, ordering the lint roller rn, and the last one is the most wholesome thing that one could say, I wouldn't have phrased it better myself 🥹 Thanks a lot ❤️

You can give them treats by hand but not food. @amani has trained our Bella really well. I just snuggle with her. She is the parent. Any tips, Amani?

1. Teach em young! Bella is super intuitive but I really feel it’s because all the commands that she responds to were taught in the first year itself. 2. A healthy pup is always less aggressive. Ensure you maintain their weight, don’t delay vaccinations, and have a set time to feed them. 3. Dogs tend to sleep a lot, but they can also get v hyper. Either take them on a walk or play fetch with them at home to ensure they’re asleep of tiredness, not boredom.
