Just because of 100g overweight.
And I guess this is how rule works, either 0 or 1.

Stupid ahh rule

How would you have felt if the roles were reversed? A scenario where an Indian athlete lost to someone who was 100g overweight and did not get dq'd. Would you not demand the rules to be followed?

Rules are the system-makers that make sports play-worthy. It’s unfortunately against us today

Hearing she wanted to shed that extra weight but failed short by a 100gm. The management had asked for a little more time for her to make it happen but were rejected.

Is 100gm really consequential? If yes, maybe. No one's going to bend rules for a single contender- it's the way of the world. I can express my contempt just the same.

Rules are rules and they should have known. It’s sad, yes. But it’s a category and as an athlete you are supposed to be aware and the coach also needs to be aware. Generally, they do weigh athletes before the main weigh in to be sure…. So that they can run a few laps in case they weigh more.

There will be an ad-hoc hearing to decide the fate of Vinesh Phogat's disqualification. It has been scheduled at 9:30 pm IST.
Vinesh will be represented by 4 pro bono lawyers made available by the Paris Bar. Subsequently, India is trying to get their own lawyer involved in the case.
