In school, my favorite subject was drawing. Not because I liked drawing (tho it was a lot of fun), but because my teacher was cool af. One random day he decides to take the entire class to watch a movie 🤯. Speed was my first school trip and the first Keanu Reeves movie.
What's the plot? “A bus that will explode if it slows down”. Such a simple concept then why is it so awesome?

This adrenaline-fueled movie made me fall in love with Hollywood's action films genre. 90s was a golden era for action movies and Speed perfectly embodies it.
Unlike today’s CGI-heavy action, Speed relied on real stunts, explosions, and practical effects, making it feel raw. The movie starts off with tension and never lets up. Ever moment keeps you on the edge — high stakes, non-stop, intense action.
Keanu Reeves is a beast. He jumped from a moving car onto the speeding bus himself. He even slid under the bus at full speed. The studio tried to stop him, but Keanu was like, “Nah, I got this.”
Fun Fact: Fox offered Keanu $12 million to return for Speed 2: Cruise Control, but he refused because he hated the script. Instead, he did The Devil’s Advocate — which turned out to be a pretty smart move!
