My taste in movies was largely influenced by the guy who sold me bootleg CDs. Trainspotting was one of those recommendations. Here's why I love it:
1. Raw and Real Storytelling — it doesn't romanticise realities of heroine addicts. The movie spoke to a lot of youth, especially in the UK, when it came out in the 90s. It's seasoned with bleak, absurd and dark humor all over it for you to enjoy.
2. This was pre-slumdog meaning tight budgets. So majority of the scenes are single shots. Things made in constraints always retains its charm and you can clearly see it in the film.
