1. Fincher's meticulous attention to detail and perfectionism is nothing short of a miracle. The pacing and tension are perfectly calibrated. There are very few films you can 'watch' without the video. The Social Network is one of them. It's a dialogue-heavy film, but you don't notice it because how carefully every single shot is crafted. The movie is masterclass in editing.
2. If you didn't know, it's written by Aaron Sorkin. It's hard to imagine anyone else writing those witty dialogues and impeccable script. Tarantino doesn't calls him "the greatest active dialogist" for no reason.
3. The soundtrack is SO on point! It's timeless and goes with the characters and their feelings. It complements every scene and pulls you in.
And it rightly won Oscars in all these 3 categories — Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Soundtrack and Best Film Editing. Go watch it now!!
P.S. — 99. That's how many takes it took for the opening scene.
