The atmosphere is 🔥, the industrial, cyberpunk vibes are spot on, and Marilyn Manson’s eerie soundtrack ties it all together.
It feels like stepping into a video game, which is a win for fans of the Resident Evil series.
Mila Jovovich (my first crush) owns the role of Alice, bringing badass energy to every scene.

That said, for a movie about a secret underground lab overrun with zombies… There aren’t that many zombies.
We get a few great undead moments, but the Hive mostly feels too empty.

The action, on the other hand, is chaotic and fun—though sometimes a little messy.
The early-2000s energy is undeniable: heavy metal, slow-motion fight scenes, and that distinct video-game-turned-movie vibe. It’s a little cheesy, but in the best way possible. 🧨💥

If you were a teenage gamer back then, this movie was made for you. Nostalgia hits hard, and despite its flaws, it’s still a super rewatchable flick.
Would a George Romero version have been better? Maybe.
But Resident Evil (2002) still stands as one of the most fun video game adaptations ever.
Solid 7/10. What do you think?
