There is a good chance you'll hate the first two episodes of season 2. They are boring, dull and trying to establish a lot. To make it worse, the climax of season 1 was too grand and memorable. One expects the makers to match that, if not make it better.

But, if you somehow survive and sail through, the closing two episodes are quite gripping, grand and near-amazing. Wait for them!

I have a complaint, though.
The makers, especially the director, didn't do justice to their main characters, Radhe and Tamanna. They hardly emote beyond being frustrated or blah. The range of possible emotions is kept to a bare minimum. And I'm not sure why.
After a while, they start irritating you and that's a big fail!

It could be that the actors are not great with their skills. But it seems like a scripting and direction problem, more than anything else.
him
Interestingly, though, the other characters and the actors are beyond amazing. Atul Kulkarni and Rajesh Tailang are anyway known too well for their acting brilliance.
Perhaps I expected a lot more from Sheeba Chaddha. Not her best work. Divya Dutta is decent at best.

The surprise performance for me was from Paresh Pahuja. What an actor! Everything about his character felt so natural, especially the angst. A bigger surprise was discovering that Paresh is quite a brilliant musician, too.

There is one actor, Rohan, who for multiple reasons behaved like a younger Ranbir Kapoor throughout. But one of the most energetic character, the liveliness of some scenes is Kunaal Roy Kapoor. I believe he got the wittiest dialogues of the entire series.

P.S. There is a surprise actor in this season. Wait for it!

Cinematography is beautiful. Almost all frames are beautifully crafted. But how I wish that the screenplay allowed for viewers to get a better idea of space in each scene, the shots are either too tight or too far. And how some frames, just a few selective ones, were epic enough to look like a painting.
him
The music, as expected, is too good. Is it better or at par with season 1? Perhaps not. But it's still amazing.
In fact, the soul of this entire series has been music, and what it means to different characters throughout.
him
I so wish there were more series from India that had their soul and stories drenched in music throughout. If this could be called a genre, I demand more works in this genre to root for.
Bandish Bandits is possibly the best attempt so far in the genre. And I'm glad it was attempted.

I hope someone from Netflix or Jio reads through this review, and shares a crazy budget for other makers to attempt more stories around music đ§

I agree. Actors were the weakest point of this show throughout. I mean Naseeruddin shah ke samne kaun tik sakta hai. But still.

Have you seen Mozart in the jungle?
Yes, it was fun. But it sways away from being emotional or with a legacy. And that was a down for me.

True true. First season was nice and then just to make sequels they kept making stuff
