Do you think a TV series, or more so, a movie loses a lot of popularity, visibility and hence, credibility, just because they are exclusively featured in a not so used (accessed) OTT channel like compare Mubi vs. Netflix
Yes, of course
I doubt it makes a difference
No chance. It's the power of series or movie that makes it click

Popularity, yes. Credibility, no. I don't think the kind of demography Mubi attracts is the same Netflix is interested in

Although Mubi now seems keener to pursue their distribution interests, it's still not as focused on delivering quantity like Netflix is or even trying to do so.

So the main thing for me is that I want to watch stuff legally. And getting another subscription just feels like a mental barrier. So Netflix ya prime pe hai toh I will watch otherwise probably not.

Imma overshare a bit about why Hotstar is not on that list.

Succession season 4 was to start end of march. And I literally took Hotstar just to watch a couple of hbo shows. And then. Poof. Jio bought rights and overnight there was no hbo on Hotstar. (1 saal ka package liya tha feb ne :()
Called them, mailed them, nothing. Asked for refund (wishful thinking I know) and yea. Nothing.
This has happened a couple of times with prime too - shows like Psych getting pulled and going to Netflix. But losing hbo was the final nail in the coffin for me for Hotstar.
