One would think that information defines an age, the world will become a lot more factual.
But no, like Rory Sutherland loves to share, humans are not logical.
I believe the number of scamsters in every profession have only gone up in the info age (today, this year, this decade), since everything is more (way more than earlier ages) of hearsay now.
Distribution (read clout) is the new logic of humans. Someone with a bigger and louder reach is considered correct and their words become the norm.
But hey, wasn't this always the case? What did info age improve then? 😁

I believe the number of scamsters in every profession have only gone up in the info age (today, this year, this decade), since everything is more (way more than earlier ages) of hearsay now.
People fall for scams because of their greed and always wanting more. Earlier, due to less social media preference, the reach was limited, but now they can reach more audiences to scam.
We’ve been fighting against scammers in the Indian stock community for the past 6 years. We’ve received well-drafted letters from law firms, but lol, who cares 😂? These guys sell courses, tips, and webinars to innocent retailers, but we somehow got access to their courses and left detailed reviews, exposing how bad they are. Beware of them! We have a community of over 30,000 retailers fighting against scammers

It goes beyond greed. Most of us are insecure and low on self-trust. We prefer believing the loudest voice over a mellow but relevant voice.
