The visuals are grand and beautiful. The bg music is amazing to say the least. Acting is superb! And yet, I got bored.
It's possibly just me but I don't enjoy such movies (stories) anymore. Good for one-time watch and that's it for me!

Oh no, you are not alone. At some level, stories and dialogue are being sacrificed at the altar of sight and sound. They would have made Lawrence of Arabia a visual feast today...and boring as eff!

Definitely a fair point. The odd thing is that films were supposed to speed up books - look at the Lord of the Rings. But Dune takes a nap and converts it into a coma

I hate to say this but warner brothers movies have become boring since last couple of years. Dune is a super storyline but still feels dull.

Interestingly some of the most entertaining books-based movies for me were from Warner Bros only.

I was waiting to see others' reactions, the first half felt really slow to me.

I agree, it was super slow.
My problem is that at no point in the story I felt that lives are threatened. Even when they were burning the settlements, there were no raised stakes.

I think that's where story lost my interest. There's nothing to look forward. Entertainment is a far expectation in such cases.
