If everyone lives a life that’s not worth escaping from, a lot of people who do the work that is needed for the innovators to work might not happen?

I had a similar chat with someone recently where I said that I meet so many people during the week that my social battery is drained by the weekend.
Her reaction was the EXACT opposite. Saying her social battery is fully charged by Friday evening ready to be out the weekend and go do things

It’s not a practice for me personally but I understand why people do this.
If we had a culture which encouraged taking breaks in a healthy manner, people won’t be going stealth mode to get longer breaks.

I’m not too sure. It’s not just a company culture issue

Not just company. Like I don’t think healthy breaks as a concept is very much developed in Indian system. And this is connected to how we view work. That’s not healthy either.

Long weekends are actually for staying in the city because everyone has left!

I agree strongly — infact the best time to go to restaurants you wanted try 😉 etc — rush is much lower than usual

Work is framed as a means to an end, a chore to be repeated everyday. And this is not an individual viewpoint, the kind of world we live in is designed to make work alienating.
