I think notwithstanding the body horror aspectof it, this movie is particularly scarier because of how aggresively on the nose it is about societal stigma around the female body. The cinematography FORCES you to watch what is regarded as "the ultimate female figure" to atleast ponder over what stupidity the male dominated entertainment and glamour industry has made a norm now.

The title itself can also be interpreted as such, as if a human is reduced to a mere substance to just give their entire life to something only to be chewed and thrown out (which happened quite literally with a shrimp of all things) when the work is done with DISDAIN. The letterboxd reviews on this are hilarious with men saying "it's too maximalist about the issue butl get what it's messaging was" like bro you don't Imao.
