You will like Schitt's Creek if you could get past first 5 episodes. It is really well made. My favourite part is how well written and unique each character is.

These shows were aired when the main source of entertainment was tv. Anything thrown to viewers, they would watch, as the choices were limited. However they weren’t funny enough, so they added fake laugh which make it more unbearable
