It doesn't play or look like any other typical Bollywood movie. And I think the poster in itself is a great reveal of the look and style this movie is trying to capture. More 👇

No doubt that the production value, the art direction and most frames of the movie are top-notch, amazingly styled and at par with most foreign productions.

The script is also tight in most places, unlike its counterparts, the other movies from where the concept is supposed to be borrowed (lifted as they say). This one is weaving a dingy atmosphere from the first frame itself.

I think that's where it falters. One, you are expecting things to go wrong and when they do, you don't feel much. Moreover, the story has no contrast. Not do the characters. Everything is dull and tensed from the very start. There are no happy times, barring a 5 mins basketball duel, which in itself is not too fun. There are no character arcs, or no happy to sad transitions. I feel this is why the movie feels flat throughout.

Technically, the movie wins but when it comes to the actual things, the soul, the emotions, and feelings, the movie is a dud. If you like any actor's performance in this movie, you are either too generous or low on standards.

With a movie packed with no shocks or surprises, something expected from this genre, none of the deaths make you feel anything. How sad is that!

The only dual reasons to go through this flat-lined-movie is the background score and the stylish frames. But is that enough to survive a movie? You should decide for yourself. Decent attempt, gone sour.
