Good folks of openvy,
Which smartwatch will you recommend? Should ideally be android-compatible
Need to buy one for my mom, so all inputs appreciated!
Hi Amani, most smartwatches right now other than the Apple Watch work fine with Android. A lot depends on what your needs are, but if you are looking for something that is decent enough for heart rate tracking, basic footstep count and stuff like that, then we would suggest you try out something from the Amazfit range, which has got good sensors and is available across a variety of price points. Would advise steering clear of Noise and Boat as their measurements can be a little odd. Of course, if you want a PROPER smartwatch that runs apps and all, then you would have to go with a Pixel Watch or a OnePlus Watch 2, but those are very ordinary in terms of battery life. Our experience with Amazfit, OnePlus and Xiaomi/Redmi has generally been rock solid. Of course, it would help us if we knew what your budget was and what your watch feature requirements are!!

Hello! Thank you for the detailed response :)
Okay to spend ~10k or less. And yes, it’s ok to not have extraordinary features as mom is not very tech savvy - so something with an easy ux is the priority
A lot of folks also suggested samsung galaxy 4/6. Will also check out Amazfit. Thank you so much :D

Always glad to have been of assistance. We would advocate steering a little clear of the Galaxy series as those are designed to play well with Galaxy phones, while something like Amazfit is well, more neutral and not tied to a platform. For around Rs 10,000, you could also consider the Amazfit GTR 2.

The CMF Watch Pro from Nothing is pretty good, sah, but in smartwatches, with greater prices come better sensors, and the Amazfit GTR2 scores there!!
