Travelled to Tbilisi, Georgia last weekend and was surprised by how much does the city have to offer 🫶

1/ The Bridge of Peace
Tbilisi, like most eastern EU cities, have been rebuilt multiple times.
This bridge is symbolic to the peace that came with the contemporary shift post the soviet divide.
Pro tip: Ensure your acco is around here, as it’s also the central point for most locations :)

2/ Fabrika Street
This quaint street is actually where you’ll find both locals and tourists.
Apart from fun bars, there are also hostels and small aesthetic shops you can explore.
Fun fact: Most of the places here didn’t have a food menu at all, just drinks🍺

3/ Sulfur Bath!
Georgia is known for its sulfur springs.
Locals say it’s supposed to heal a lot of ailments. Even if it doesn’t, it’s too relaxing to be missed out on!
There are both public and private rooms, depending on your comfort (and budget). 🙇♀️
Side note: You can enjoy it with a beer or lemon tea. Whatever floats your boat! :)

4/ Holy Trinity Cathedral
This piece of architecture is gorgeous inside out.
It’s located at the peak so you may need to hike a little, but absolutely worthwhile.
There are just two cafes right outside the church that offer georgian delicacies that you can enjoy w the view! ✨

5/ Chronicles of Georgia
This is located on the outskirts of Tbilisi, but has to be one of the most beautiful monuments i’ve seen.
It’s still not fully finished (ahem, Sagrada Familia), for reasons unknown.
But it depicts scenes from various historical and religious events and stories from Georgian literary works, and worth a visit. 🎖️

6/ Tbilisi Sea
Post Chronicles, you can walk off to the ledge and enjoy the sight of the Tbilisi sea.
It didn’t have as many people as I thought it would, and the setting is extremely serene.
It’s also accessible via a drive if you’re interested to go closer! 🌊

7/ Rike Park and Meidan Bazaar for Strollers
Practically where you’ll find all the locals on a weekend.
The most Tbilisi thing to do apparently is to set up a barbecue. There are tents of people with no kitchen - just barbecues (mostly pork), with small tables to accompany the same.
Still dreaming about the georgian sauce they serve along w it 🤍

8/ Gardenia Shevardnadze
Had trouble trying to locate this because it’s situated in the middle of nowhere, or that’s what it feels like.
But this is one place I felt could be enjoyed by all age groups. This is a super dainty park(?) with flowers I can’t pronounce the names of.
The best thing to do here is to sit by the cafe as they have the best cakes in Tbilisi, and sip your coffee. ☕️

9/ Narikala Fortress
My favourite memory from the trip is randomly stumbling across a couple getting married here :)
Gives the entire city view from the top, also offers a cable car in case you’re tired for a hike down. 🥾
