Ah, my mom has it… honestly, the Bezel and chassey are UGLLLYYYY and the screen isn’t as sharp as the M1P/M2P. The keyboard is miles better though

I’d recommend getting the MBP M1P over the MBP M2

Interesting. I will check if that's an option. Other option is X1 carbon. i7-1185G7. 16gb and 512gb

I’m using M2 16gb Ram with 512gb Macbook Air now before this I had base version which was way to slow. But since the upgrade I’m happy with the performance and everything. Also, the compact factor is really good.

Disappointing, I switch from an old MacBook air M1 to macbook pro M2 to have a more smoother and faster experience but honestly not much of a difference.

Yeah, honestly the delta value between the any of the M1s (including the pro) vs the M2s is absolutely nothing

Ooo nice! Also, it’ll be a huge bummer if you don’t get the dbrand teardown sticker. Its $30 but the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen

You mean the base version M2 MacBook Air was slower than the one you're using right now? (I can't think of a reason that would make a significant difference except for the doubling of the RAM - that too if you do a lot of heavy-duty multitasking)
Karan Agrawal
I was actually considering upgrading my MacBook and was comparing the newer models. I'm using the 2017 MBP Intel i5 8GB RAM. Wanna upgrade because the battery life has gone down significantly and heating issues during heavy multitasking (building iOS apps etc)

I’m considering upgrading from Pro M1 to Air M2, assuming it will be a performance upgrade (for running stable diffusion & the likes).

Doesn’t make much sense since the difference will be marginal. Upcoming M3 on 3nm will offer a significant upgrade so wait for it.

It really depends on what you want to do on it. For routine tasks, the difference in speed is not noticeable. Move to something like video editing and it sort of hits you right there. Also the battery life is staggering for a high end notebook!! I would stick to an Air but if you have lots of multimedia work to do, this thing is formidable.

Not happening this month or may be next as well. After few mails and phone calls. I learnt apple priorities retail customers over enterprise one. And our supplier have no information when they will receive the consignment.

However, it freezes badly during high-resource operations (tried running a diffusion model locally, with no other apps open). The 38-core M2 Max is the only one that’s stable and doesn’t freeze (it’s also the only model that handles 96GB of RAM). For simple figma & video editing uses M216” should be fine though.

Although it’s an expensive setup, if you’re planning to get into designing AI stuff or even high-end video/3D work in future, it’s a worthy investment.

It’s a machine that truly is transparent. I imagine and create… that’s all I need. If it can more than exceed your requirements, no benchmark is needed
