There’s really something off about how we Indians handle helping out professionally. I messaged five employees from Meesho for a referral, and none of them even bothered to reply. Meanwhile, I reached out to a senior designer at Amazon for some feedback, and he immediately suggested setting up a meeting. Then I asked a designer from China for help with Framer, and he sent me a remix link without hesitation. It’s just a stark contrast.

Is it country (culture) specific?

IMO, it’s country specific. I’ve experienced it if I message 10 Indians, maybe 1-2 will bother to reply, whereas if I ask for help from Europeans or Americans, 6-7 will help me out

In the last week, I messaged around 30 people who work at good companies for referrals on LinkedIn. Only 1 of them replied back, lol 😂 And here’s the best part they post on their timeline asking people to DM them, and then they just ghost you. I don’t know if it’s about their boosted ego or if they just don’t care. Who knows! But my experience on LinkedIn has been the worst. Twitter is far better for job hunting.

I think we don’t understand the power of connections. We keep talking about Karma but put 0 effort to increase the Karma score 🤭

I believe in karma and always try to do my best for others. I used to run a free Udemy course channel maybe biggest on telegram and website that had millions of monthly views. Maybe I’ve lost some of my socializing skills, but I’ll try to regain them 🫠

It’s not you. It’s them 😋 What is your Udemy channel about?

Free courses across all domains. We asked the authors to provide free coupon codes in exchange for feedback and ratings 😁
