It is turning out to be a pretty good time for anyone who want truly wireless earbuds (TWS) at a budget price. A few days ago, we came across Sony's WF-C%510, which were new and very good for Rs 4,990. Now we gave the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE, which are about a year old, come at the same price and are even better!

Now, the Galaxy Buds FE were actually launched in late 2023, for Rs 8,999. And while they were pretty good for that price, they were priced a little too close to the likes of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 and Samsung's own Buds 2 Pro. At Rs 4990 (check Amazon and Flipkart - Samsung still sells them at Rs 9,999 on its own stores), however, they are perfect for those who want that flagship TWS experience for under Rs 5,000!

The Galaxy Buds FE are small, light and come in a case that is super easy to carry - each bud is 5.6 grams and the case is 40 grams. And what we like about their design is the presence of a tiny fin that keeps the buds in place firmly. They will fall out, but less often. They also have IPX2 dust and water resistance so can be used in a gym and for a run. They have a nice, premium feel to them, although the design is relatively conventional, with the back being a touch panel and no stems.

The best thing about them is their performance. The audio quality is miles ahead of any of the competition at this price, with good clarity, albeit with a very distinct bass stress. Well ahead of the competition are also its ANC (which can kill a lot of sound, and are good enough for use in a cafe or in the metro) and call quality, which is close to that of the AirPods. The 5 hour battery life with ANC and 20 hours with the case is a little middling, but the performance is frankly at another level for this price!

The Buds FE also have a touch of AI magic - they can translate live conversations. The only major issue with them is the fact that they are best used with Samsung devices - you get the most features and the best options. If you are an iPhone user that wants to adjust ANC and equalisers, then you will have to give these a miss, but if you just want good sound and ANC, these are still a god deal. If you are using Android, these are the best flagship TWS you can get on a tight budget!
