Imagine a powerful Android tablet that comes with a Magic Keyboard (the fancy one that comes with the iPad Pro range) like keyboard attachment. And a very handy stylus. All for about Rs 40,000, give and take a bit? Let's get you up and close to Xiaomi's latest tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 7.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 is a tablet with a 11.2 inch display, And quite a display it is too - it comes with a very high 3200 x 2136 resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate and brightness of 800 nits, It is terrific for viewing content. The front is Gorilla Glass 3, the back and sides are aluminium, and the whole thing weighs about 500 grams. Very solid.

It is a mere 6.18 mm thin (thinner than an iPad), and comes with four speakers, and 45W charging support as well as a 45W charger. Running it is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip (a pretty decent processor for most tasks and even some high-end gaming) with 8 GB/ 128 GB and 12 GB/ 256 GB RAM and storage variants. You also get a 13 MP camera on the back and an 8 MP camera in front. All this with Android 15 and Xiaomi's HyperOS 2 on top, with features like floating windows, split screen and Workstation mode.

All of which is very nice, but what we really like are the accessories designed for it. There's the Focus Keyboard, which is a complete keyboard with trackpad. It attaches to the tablet with pogo pins and keeps the tablet suspended above the keys. You can adjust the viewing angles a bit as well, which is something rare in keyboard covers. Pretty cool, and so Magic Keyboard-like!

The similarities to the greatest tablet of them all do not end there. You also get a Focus Pen stylus which attaches to the side (like the Apple Pencil), comes with handwriting recognition and also has buttons on it that let you scroll pages, take screenshots and even use it as a pointer. Neat, eh?

We left the best part for last: the Xiaomi Pad 7 starts at Rs 27,999, the Focus Keyboard comes for Rs 8,999 and the Focus Pen for Rs 5,999. So you can get all three for Rs 42,997! Which is one heck of a deal, if you want a reasonably powerful tablet that can also sub for a notebook, especially on trips. We would have preferred a bigger trackpad and bigger keys, but that price wipes away a lot of worries.
