When it comes to keyboards, most of us have a pretty standard format in mind - rows and columns of alphabets and numbers in straight lines. The size of the keys might change a little, but the keyboard itself seems standard. Well, we just used a keyboard that's rather different. and well, tell you what, once we got the hang of it, it was incredibly comfortable to use. It is not perfect, but it is so comfortable. Righto, let's get you all up to speed with the curious yet comfortable Logitech Wave Keys.

The Logitech Wave Keys is a wireless keyboard that you can connect to just about any device using the Logi Bolt receiver or Bluetooth. We used it with Bluetooth to connect to our iPhone, OnePlus 12...but mostly our iPad. Because it just was such a full-fledged keyboard - you not only get all the keys, but get a complete dedicated numpad on the side. Mind you, this is not your routine "built for portability" keyboard - this one is a big keyboard! It is over a foot wide and more than half a foot tall. This one is going to take up some space! At 750 grams, it is not exactly lightweight either.

But all that will hit you later. What you will notice straight off is that the Wave Keys is very differently shaped. In keeping with its name, the Wave Keys is shaped like well, a wave. It slopes up from the left to the centre and then slopes down again, Logitech says that this shape has been developed by it Logi Ergo Lab, and has been certified by United States Ergonomics..Also notable is the presence of a large cushioned pam rest at the base of the keyboard for resting your wrist while typing. The palm rest is made of memory foam, and is easy to clean (generally a swipe with a tissue clears matters). The keyboard itself is made totally of plastic, but feels very very solid indeed!

The Wave Keys is not a mechanical keyboard but it comes with large keys with much more 'travel' than you get from your routine notebook keyboard.

It is a pretty smart keyboard too, and lets you connect to three devices and switch between them. We often used it to switch between our iPad and iPhone. And it worked smoothly enough as well, The keyboard also has two legs which lets you tilt it to be used at a more

The keyboard is powered by a couple of AAA batteries, which Logitech says can go up to a staggering three years. We have seen no dip in battery life in over a month's usage, so you know what - it might well be true.

All of which brings us to the key question, pun intended: what is it like to use the Logitech Wave Keys? The answer is: EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE once you get the hang of it. And it does need some getting used to, as moving your fingers up and down the "wave" is not routine. Our initial experience was not exactly great, with us often missing keys, but after 3-4 days of regular use, we were pretty much hooked,

The combination of that wave form and that large palm rest makes typing on the Wave Keys an extremely comfortable experience. It does not strike you immediately, but you will suddenly find a notebook too hard after having used this keyboard. Typing is smooth and while we would have liked slightly larger keys (we always do), the fact that this is a full-fledged keyboard with no functional shortcuts makes this a terrific option. And yes, our fingers and wrists do seem to feel less tired after long sessions on this!

Of course, it is not perfect. The keys have no backlighting and as we pointed out earlier, the keyboard both large and on the heavy side, and of course, there is a learning curve to using it. But you know what? At Rs 5,999, we think the Logitech Wave is one of our favourite wireless keyboards, simply because it is so comfortable to use. Some of our friends who have wrist and finger issues absolutely love it, and we just wish Logitech would come out with a more portable version of it. This is a keyboard wave you are going to love to surf!
