With great active noise cancellation (ANC) on headphones comes a great price tag. If you are looking for a pair of good ANC headphones which ACTUALLY block out some of that cafe chatter and traffic noise, you normally will need to shell out something around Rs 10,000 or more. The best option is the elaborately named Sony WH-CH720N, which is generally priced at Rs 11,999. Well, it is going for Rs 7,989 on Amazon during the Republic Day Sale! DEAL, say we!

The reason it is a deal at that price because the WH-CH720N are a surprisingly good pair of headphones even at their official Rs 10,999 price. The ANC is so good that unless things get TOO loud, these can actually match the Sony WH-1000XM5 (yes, we said that). They even can adjust ANC levels depending on the noise around you, and you can turn ANC off to listen to ambient noises, if you wish. They look smart too, and come in three colours (we like black!)

They come with good ear pads and a padded head band too. Yes, they are plastic, but feel solid. At 200 grams, they are very comfortable to wear or even hang from your neck for hours. And you would want to keep them on for hours, as they actually sound pretty good, with very balanced sound. This makes them great for just about all genres - gaming, films, podcasts, et al. They ain't explosive, super sassy or very loud, just very clear. And high quality clear!

They also handle calls very well and have a 30 hour battery life. Controls are through decent-sized buttons on the cups (no touch, thank God!). They don't fold inwards so are a trifle bulky to carry, and there's no carry bag with them, but you get great ANC, good sound, good calls, good battery, multi-device connections, comfort...all that now for Rs 7,989.
