One of the iPhone's recent innovations that has not quite gone mainstream is the Dynamic Island, which has taken the place of the (in)famous notch, and is a panel on top of the iPhone that shows some notifications and other information. Not too many brands have been able to get something similar on Android phones, so imagine our surprise when we saw a variant of the feature on a phone that is priced at a mere Rs 6,799 - the just-released A70 from Itel!

Itel calls the feature Dynamic Bar, and for the price, it is a very handy feature. In hardware terms, the phone's 6.6 inch HD+ display comes with a water drop notch, but once you set up the phone, this morphs into a rectangular notch that can show you battery levels, incoming calls and best of all, face unlock, in which a cute animation smiles or gets weepy depending on whether your face unlocked the phone or failed to do so. A bit basic. But so nice!

The phone is pretty much an entry-level one - it runs on a Unisoc T603 chip. 13 MP rear and 8 MP selfie camera, 5000 mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor on the side. Storage starts at 64 GB for the Rs 6,299 and goes up to a rather impressive 256 GB for just Rs 7,299. RAM stands at 3 GB and 4 GB, although it gets boosted by 8 GB using virtual means. No 5G, though, and the shiny back might be too jazzy for some, but we love that Dynamic Bar at this price!
