Typography in action: Oscar edition

The typography on the presenter cards seems to have improved in a few very important ways: 1- Hierarchy: the name of the winner is now the biggest element on the card, clearly differentiated from the name of the movie, in order to facilitate reading.

Also, the category is at the top of the page rather than the bottom, as itโ€™s more important info to the announcer than the logo. Also in case their nerves gets the better of them and they forget the category and they do not pull the card all the way up.

2- Less noise: They removed the quotes as they are unnecessary in such a list view (or even in a paragraph setting).

3- More clarity: The name of the movie is in a lighter weight. This helps to separate the reading units of actor name and movie title which will speed up reading.
