I have disagreed for too long and continue to do so. I personally don鈥檛 like writing much. I鈥檓 team typing.

Captures your thought quickly from anywhere now.
I personally want to make a more wholesome tool for this than making an automated tool

Whatever works for individuals. That's why there are many tools available. Digital and physical.

Agreed
Though I鈥檇 advocate that noting or the act of noting is not as important as the act or retrieval.
I know too many people who note a lot but don鈥檛 gain much coz there鈥檚 no retrieval system

I am a huge fan of the typed word simply because everyone can read it more easily than handwritten notes.

I used to think like this but I now work with people who write handwritten notes and it is a huge nonsense at times.
I used to be a purely pen and paper person but haven鈥檛 used them more than a year. Just figuring out how to study better with online notes because that is one thing where I feel hand writing notes work better.

Interesting. Why it is nonsense at times?

True.
I believe every system of noting, physical or digital is two sides of same coin.

They need to change their noting system. 馃

Very directly. People lose notebooks/papers or wherever they note down stuff. We can partially blame that on human behaviour.
It鈥檚 a step too many to share handwritten notes. And then people expect you to understand their ugly ass handwriting.
And since handwritten notes are impossible to compile, I feel we lose out on a lot of insights and stuff that have been solved earlier.

I am trying Remarkable for note taking. Addresses all the issues you mentioned. Can digitize my ugly handwriting to typed noted and save on cloud.
And can scribble during meetings.
