⚠️ Another warning for the show, and if I'm right, for all things Mr. Coben writes — the story would make you question the (blind) trust you have in your loved ones. Are you sure that you want to feel that?

Adam Price is living perhaps the best family life with his loving wife, two sons, a great job, and a beautifully warm house in the (fictional) town of Cedarfield. One odd day, a stranger enters their life and unravels a shocking secret that will further unfold other grays of this otherwise perfect life.

Apart from the grays & twists that are the soul of this story, I fell in love with the colours, aesthetics and frames of this series. Shot majorly in the Greater Manchester area, the architecture and the natural scape is a major characteristic of the series. Naturally the art, cinematography and styling are top-notch! Storytelling, barring some and more on that later, is brilliant and makes one want more from this storyteller. (Am I repeating myself here?)

The actors are good. The best of the lot are all women — Hannah John-Kamen, Siobhan Finneran and Dervla Kirwan. You'd want to see more of these 3 on the screen. And perhaps like me, you'd go scouting for more of their work beyond this series. Direction is good too. The script is decent. These two parts, if were better than what they were, the series would have been brilliant!

⚠️ Spoilers ahead ⚠️ The series is fun, shocking and yet, shockingly slow. You'd want such a thriller to mostly dash and very rarely, pause for breathers. That's not the case. Most twists take longer than expected to show up and when they do, some don't work at all, especially towards the end. The climax would confuse you — was it dumb, rushed or just blah?!

Some stories never reached their logical end post-climax. There are hints of possibilities about the whys and hows but never explicitly shown. For instance, why was the mother poisoning her child?
