This movie is much better than OMG 1, the way I see it. Right from the protagonist, brilliantly portrayed by the super amazing Pankaj Tripathi, to the pace of storytelling, to the sensitive treatment of the topic, to the layers of possible learnings, almost every aspect is thoughtfully crafted ✨ Is it a perfect movie? NO. Absolutely not. And it shouldn't be. I have never enjoyed a perfect movie to its core 😊

Akshay Kumar is in a way playing a restrained version of himself. And yet, is fun to watch. One sort of waits for his scenes with Mr. Tripathi, with all their heart 🫶 Character actors, especially teenagers, are phenomenal. They must get more demanding roles in the future — they deserve them! 🙌

Direction, as mentioned before, is sensitive, and superb! Special mention for the creative team here. The Censor Board had apparently asked for multiple cuts through the movie and requested story changes. The team has handled them creatively and how. Hard to explain! 🫡 Music is another highlight. I was looking forward to Har Har Mahadev for how it had already hooked me in the promo itself. Almost aptly timed and shot, the song (and its score) is the soul!

As mentioned earlier, the Censor Board has taken a counterintuitive stand. It had apparently asked for multiple cuts, which the creative team seems to have agreed to. And yet, the movie has been given an R rating. If and when you see the movie, you'd realise how odd and primitive is that stand. This movie deserves to be seen by every kid and teenager, for reasons best understood after watching the movie!

OTT release will restore the cuts, they say. And the rating will not have much effect there, and would get a better reach. I'm for sure waiting for that — for kids to watch it, for parents and teachers to understand the psyche of what teenagers go through. Almost everyone I know, including myself, went through the phase of having such critical questions as a teen and not having anyone to share answers with me 😞
