They keep making wisecracks about its name, but Vivo's sub-brand iQoo (which stands for 'I Quest On and On,' incidentally) has been coming out with some amazing devices of late. And the latest is the iQoo Neo 9 Pro. We will talk of its specs and all in due course, but right now, we will simply ask you to LOOK at it - have you ever seen a phone look like this? This is the fiery red version. There's another you do not need to see at all, This looks lovely!

The back of the iQoo Neo 9 Pro with its dual colour theme of red and white is a sure eye-catcher. It has a rather Japanese feel about it and is a welcome change from the glossy and matte glass and solid colours that have been dominating our smartphone lives of late. It comes with a premium vegan leather finish and has stitched seams on it, and heck, even the frame is red, This is a very good-looking phone, And it is actually rather well-specced too!

The iQoo Neo 9 Pro comes with a very good 6.78 inch LTPO AMOLED 1.5K display with a surprisingly high refresh rate of 144 Hz. And it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which is still very much a flagship level performer. RAM and storage variants stand at 8 GB/ 256 GB and 12 GB/ 256 GB. You also get a massive 5160 mAh battery with support for 120W charging, with a 120W charger in the box that can also charge your notebook, if need be!

The cameras are a neat touch. Many phones these days tend to come with 2/3/4 cameras with only one or at the most two being of any actual use. The iQoo Neo 9 Pro sticks to two cameras - one a very good Sony IMX 920 50 MP main sensor with OIS, and the other a useful enough 8 megapixel ultrawide. No decorative cameras here. The phone runs on Android 14 with the rather risqué-ly named FunTouch OS, which is a little heavy but should fly on these specs!

We left the best for last - the iQoo Neo 9 Pro is priced at a surprisingly affordable Rs 36,999 for 8 GB/ 256 GB and Rs 38,999 for the 12 GB/ 256 GB variants. For that spec and design combination, those are crazy good prices. The OnePlus 12R has a similar processor but comes for Rs 39,999, although it does bring a curved display into play. We are still amazed by the design - it's been a while since so many people asked us "which is that phone?"
